The MicroFly is a cool gadget available at ThinkGeek: “This is by far the smallest flying R/C device we’ve ever seen and it’s damn impressive in the air. With a diameter not much larger than a silver dollar and a single propeller on the bottom, the MicroFly somehow manages to hover in the air as it spins and flashes its blue LED. The simple slider control allows only up-and down movement… but this makes it so easy to fly that anyone can instantly control it. Buy a few and create your own buzzing alien insect swarm… they use the same channel so you can control multiple MicroFly units from one remote.”

"At one time, you needed a desk that could handle a mountain of paper, a two-foot-deep monitor, a printer, and a CPU the size of a Labrador. Today, your entire computer is an inch thick and your printer is in your closet connected to your WiFi. You have moved forward. It’s time your desk caught up.” My favorite feature of Heckler Design’s OneLessDesk is the rear-facing shelf that can hides your cords, power supply, external hard drives, and hubs. Comes in white or silver for $649 USD.

Michael Moore’s latest film is now available for free viewing online. In Moore’s words: “I’m giving you my blanket permission to not only download it, but also to email it, burn it, and share it with anyone and everyone (in the U.S. and Canada only). I want you to use ‘Slacker Uprising’ in any way you see fit to help with the election or to do the work that you do in your community. You can show my film in your local theater, your high school classroom, your college auditorium, your church, union hall or community center. You can have your friends and neighbors over to the house for a viewing. You can broadcast it on TV, on cable access, on regular channels or on the web. It’s completely free—I don’t want to see a dime from this. And if you want, you can charge admission or ask for a donation if it’s to raise money for a candidate, a voter drive, or for any non-profit or educational purpose. In other words—it’s yours!” We’ve embedded the movie after the jump as well, or you can always support the cause by purchasing the DVD for $9.95.

There are lots of designer wallpapers to choose from these days, and I love the romantic elegance of these wall coverings by Trove, “a New York-based design duo comprised of Jee Levin and Randall Buck. Two accomplished artists, they set out to merge art, design, and craft in the wall coverings business. Founded in 2006, the earliest Trove collection was inspired by New York’s century-old flower market, a now diminutive block in Midtown Manhattan.” The products are created using non-toxic wax-based coatings. "The Toyota iQ, which was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, will go on sale in Japan in October and in Europe a few months later… Unlike the Smart Car which can only seat two people, the Toyota iQ has 4 seats, though only 3 of those can accommodate adults. The last one is better used for a small child, a baby seat or a grocery bag...For those concerned about safety, despite its small size, the Toyota iQ received a 5-star safety rating in Euro NCAP testing.” Cost? Expected price is $13,000. [via Treehugger]
