Dutch designer Jonas Samson‘s light-emitting wallpaper concept makes it possible “to use a two-dimentional flat surface as light source instead of a 3D object. As long as the wallpaper is turned ‘off’, it is indistinguishable as a source of light. Instead, it is just what it appears to be: wallpaper.” (via elitalice at Stylehive)

The Jelly-fish 45 is a floating dwelling unit which houses up to six people among the five levels of space. The unit is designed by Giancarlo Zema and cost a whopping $2.5 million. The website mentions it “would be ideally situated in sea parks, atolls, bays and seas rich in flora and fauna. The Jelly-fish 45 allows the sea dwelling owners to live either above or below sea level in perfect harmony with the ocean environment.” I like the design - a combination of seacraft and spaceship - and I would love to see the inside of one. But, I question whether it’s really in perfect harmony with the ocean given the need for waste disposal if people were to really live in these. (via spazzygirl in the Stylehive)
Rosario Merola designs minimal and whimsical jewelry. We’re particularly fond of the Stilo ring (pictured left), which is made of titanium, stainless steel, polypropylene; and the Flower ring (pictured right), made of pearls, onyx and stainless steel. (via fiction’s bookmark at Stylehive)

Enertia aims to be the world’s first production, zero-emissions and battery powered plug-in electric motorcycle when it launches in 2008. It will cost $14,995, go up to 50 mph and recharges to 100% in 3 hours. See how it compares to Prius in terms of carbon emissions. From the website: “Deceptively simple...the Enertia benefits from an ultra light, ultra stiff carbon fiber monocoque chassis that doubles as the motorcycle’s battery “carriage” and an elegantly simple electric drivetrain that keeps maintenance at an absolute minimum.” Thanks to dopechiq for bookmarking it to Stylehive.
