That would have to be made of a pretty strong material since this design removes all the reinforcing structures of a bicycle frame. (it does look amazing though). Good job. Also, it seems that the front handlebars are a bit too low.
Uh.... cool design… but wouldn’t it be hard to pedal with the seat at about the same hight as the handle bars?
Looks way too flexible or too heavy (depending on construction), and the geometry is wrong. Handle bars are too low. looks cool, but I wouldn’t want to ride it.
It would actually be more frog inspired and natural feeling if the pedals were moved further back on the bike. You know, so you would kind of kick like a frog to pedal it. I think it looks cool, but hey why not go that extra mile and make it pedal more froglike too?
Actually if you look at any modern road bike youll notice that the handlebars are usually at the same level, or below the seat. It looks awkward until you ride one, youll see when you do. As for the design, how does it steer, it seems the front fork is fused to the rest of the frame, rendering a bike that cannot turn. Additionally, the wheels, although nice looking would flex badly as you rode over bumps, it would absorb bumps but make for a very wobbly and inefficient bike.
I ride a lot and I am also studing engineering. I can tell you guys 2 things, this bike could hold a huge weight if made from a carbon fibre composite as most modern racers are, and, if anyone here had riddden a velodrome speed bike, the saddle is just a little bit higher than the bars. This is for speed and aerodynamics. You do not ride a velodrome bike for hours at a time, but for speed runs.
finch is right i have a 30 year old motobecane (sp?) and i keep my handle bars 3 inches lower then the seat it really helps with wind resistance
That is without question the coolest design for a bike i have ever seen.
