Barbara Cohen’s jewelry designs are anything but ordinary. Each piece combines both natural and synthetic materials to become a hybrid. There’s both minimalism and decorative embellishment, hard and soft, ancient and modern. Cohen writes, “Upon seeing my collection of fossil pendants a fellow artist called me an organic perfectionist.” In this seeming contradiction lies the intrigue and the beauty of her series: Mesh, Cocoon, and Stone.
