"Living Simplicity” was the theme of the ‘premio vico magistretti’ design competition, organized by designboom and depadova, and showing at the eepadova showroom in Milan, Italy. Japanese designer Junya Mokubo’s piece depicts the theme well. He describes his work: “The furniture is consisted with a set of 4 cushions and it turns into sofa and bed. (And maybe more, depends on how you arrange them.) The cushions are soft enough so that corners of those would be squished to almost flat when you sit on it. You can also place it by a wall when it’s not in use. It saves space and also becomes as an interior charm like picture on a wall.” See all the winning and shortlisted entries at designboom.
