”These toys are weighted sculptures that can be used as a balancing tool for kids or as part of a fungi forest inhabited by swigg critters! They are about 1 1/2 lbs. each and measure approximately 7” tall x 7” wide. Available in 3 colorways.”

Nicole Gastonguay taught herself how to crochet using Crocheting for Dummies. “Being Queen Dummy myself, I only know one stitch. This is what happens when I use it.”

I’ve pointed out Diastema‘s unusual photography before. She’s at it again. Her photo set, ”creamy middle” is something else. See for yourself.

Despite our purported digital information overload and attention span of only 6 seconds per page, there are some things that still stop me in my tracks while I’m surfing. The photos by diastema had me intrigued and I spent over an hour clicking and favoriting dozens of her photos of toys and miniatures. The photos are surreal, ironic and emotional. You can see the toy set here. Get completely immersed in her wonderful world (it’s worth it, I promise) by visiting all her photo sets.

Photo of Piglet in Agra, India copyright doc18
People’s creativity and passions never cease to amaze me, especially the Piglet travel photo series by doc18. In his Flickr profile he writes “Welcome to my Childish and Weird Mindscape...I [would] like to give up my day job and work with toys 24/7.” If it were up to us, doc18 would already be hired and traveling the world photographing his toys. Check out his full set of Piglet travel photos, complete with Google Maps of locations at Chu Chu’s Photolog. You can see his other toy photos at his Flickr page.

Tina Roth Eisenberg (aka swissmiss) takes this beautiful photo of her kid’s toy, a handmade wooden cow by Swissmade. The Swiss moo is adorable and the idea of taking photos of your kid’s toys so they can see them when they’re older is definitely worth it. This is Tina’s first in her series of photos. My mom took several photos of some toys I had when my brother and I were little and I’ve always treasured them.
